Until now, the hair care industry has paid little attention to its impact on the environment. Five Wits by Blackstones addresses this challenge through its innovative Refill → Recycle → Reward program. Here’s how it works:
Fig. 1. The shampoos and conditioners, manufactured within a 50-mile radius of Blackstones, are decanted and sold at the salon.
Fig. 2. When clients finish using the product, they can either refill or exchange the original container for a new one. All returned containers will be recycled by Blackstones.
Fig. 3. The client gets a premium product at a discount: refill for a $2 savings or exchange the original container for a new one for a $1 saving. There’s one less piece of plastic out there in the world, and we’ve made another stride toward eco-friendly living.
